Volunteers to help deliver our collections, exhibitions and outreach project

Our museum has two main aims: to care for our collections, which focus on Tewkesbury and the surrounding area, and to display them to the public inside and outside the museum.

We have just secured a grant for a project which will help us achieve these aims. We have taken on a contractor to lead the project and now need people who are keen on museums and local history to help him.

The project will last until early 2027, but the work will continue forever!

You don't need experience of working in a museum, as you'll be given full training. There are several elements in this project (plus we have lots of other activities), so you're bound to find something to interest you.

The collections care element of the project will appeal to people who like handling, studying and recording old objects. Several skills will be useful for the exhibition part of the project, including planning and setting up displays, creating interactive film and audio, research, and writing descriptions. The outreach element is for sociable people willing to take a selection of objects to residential homes and schools.

All ages welcome except - sorry - we can't take you if you're under 18.
