Interested in the history of our town? Help us conserve, interpret and display our wide range of historical artefacts and other objects.
We are looking for people who would like to work as part of a small team of volunteers to look after and display our collections.
Your main duties are:
- Work as part of our team, caring, conserving and cataloguing our collections
- Help plan and implement exhibitions to inform and entertain our visitors
- Engage with visitors about the museum and its collections
Requirements:
- An interest in local history - and old objects!
- Willing to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail
To get you up to speed, we will provide an induction which includes a brief introduction to and tour of the museum, with more specific training by a member of the Collections team.
Volunteering with us looks great on a CV and we are happy to provide a reference.
