Shurdington Community Centre

About Shurdington Community Centre

Shurdington Social Centre was established by trust deed in 1964 and registered as a charity in 1975. The site of the social centre was built during WW2 to house women’s land army volunteers. It was subsequently used for POW’s and, during the fifties, as hospital rehabilitation.

It was transferred to community use in 1960 and, by the late seventies, a rebuilding fund had been established. The current buildings were completed in the 1990’s.

The Social Centre changed its name in 2019 to Shurdington Community Centre as it registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

The Centre is run by a volunteer committee acting as Trustees for the CIO.

We encourage both interested individuals and representatives of user groups to join the organization and help us to run this great community facility.
