About Middle of the Hill Community Group

We are a busy, thriving Food Hub, based in the Community Room at Nouncells Cross , Stroud. We are all about reducing food waste and tackling hunger. We have gone from strength to strength, and now have donations of food from Waitrose, Tescos and Greggs, as well as local growers & suppliers such as Green Gourmet, Common Soil Community Farm, Stroud Farmers Market and others, & we access food & sundries surplus in the supply chain via Fareshare. We are also generously suppled with frozen meals from The Long Table.

We are open on Tuesday from 11-1pm and Thursdays 11-1pm and 5-7 pm. We greet our customers, & help them with whatever they need from our fridge, freezers and shelves, we also have an advice board should customers need access to further support. We are open access & we don't ask questions, food is free to those in need though donations are encouraged, we have costs, some food we buy in & every little helps to keep us stocked & cover expenses.

We also have a free self serve hot & cold drinks stand, again small donations are welcome. We will be employing a Community Cook soon & becoming a Community Cafe for two lunchtimes a week initially in the near future, so there's always lots going on.

It’s a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. We urgently need new volunteers to join us in this exciting & rewarding venture!
