SummaryWe need volunteers to help run our busy and thriving Food Hub. It is open on Tuesdays 11- 1 pm and Wednesdays 5pm-7pm andThursdays 11-1pm
This is a very rewarding role. We meet and greet our customers, offer them hot drinks, and help them with the food items they need from the shelves and freezers. You don’t need any special skills for this, just a smiling, friendly face & an open mind
It is a great opportunity to meet fantastic & varied new people. We work in pairs, so you would never be on your own, and the person you are volunteering with will show you the ropes, a lot of our volunteers have been with us for over 18 months so they know their stuff!
You don’t need to be available every week. We have a rota, and various shifts, & you will be asked which days and hours you would like to help. It could be once a week or once a month - any help would be very much appreciated!
What we will provide to volunteers🤝 Extra support
Getting thereWe are located just off Bisley Old Road at Nouncells Cross, if you turn into Middle Hill then turn into the car park the Community Room is in front of you at the bottom of the steps.
About Middle of the Hill Community Group
We are open on Tuesday from 11-1pm and Thursdays 11-1pm and 5-7 pm. We greet our customers, & help them with whatever they need from our fridge, freezers and shelves, we also have an advice board should customers need access to further support. We are open access & we don't ask questions, food is free to those in need though donations are encouraged, we have costs, some food we buy in & every little helps to keep us stocked & cover expenses.
We also have a free self serve hot & cold drinks stand, again small donations are welcome. We will be employing a Community Cook soon & becoming a Community Cafe for two lunchtimes a week initially in the near future, so there's always lots going on.
It’s a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. We urgently need new volunteers to join us in this exciting & rewarding venture!
