HARE

About HARE

HARE is a nature-centric community collective of nature-loving practitioners, who collaborate to bring their services to our local community. We are open to any individual or organisation offering any service that is in line with our aims and values.

Based in Hazel Woods, near Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, our purpose is to nurture the well-being of people in the Forest of Dean, through mindful connection with the natural world, creativity, community and spirituality.

We run seasonal celebrations based on the eight sabats of the wheel of the year. Interspersed with a variety of workshops and events in our woodland.

We run workshops and seasonal events, incorporating mindful connection with nature, natural & heritage crafts, green woodwork and bushcraft. We manage our woodland sustainably, working with nature and being mindful of the endangered animals living on site. We run monthly Land Stewardship Volunteer Days to support this.

All our workshops are fully outdoors in our woodland, we have a beautiful parachute shelter over our fire circle and build other temporary shelters if it rains.

In 2023 & 2024 we ran:

- Forest Play - our weekly fully outdoor parent & toddler group.

- Forest School for home educated children, weekly group.

- Nurture in Nature - weekly well-being walks in the forest for new parents.

- Gardening for mental health in three local schools, funded by the NHS.

- Children's school holiday Forest Skills Workshops, with free places funded by HAF - funded by Gloucestershire County Council, through the Holiday Activities & Food scheme.

- Accessible Crafts - high ratio heritage crafts workshops for neurodiverse children, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

We've got lots of exciting plans for 2026, including our seasonal celebrations. We would love you to join us to support our mission. You can find out more about us on our website and social media: www.harecic.co.uk
