Summary
We are looking for a new Chair who can lead our Board and staff team to help us grow our work and ensure the voices of Gloucester communities are heard.Detailed description
We are looking for a Chair who has:
- Passion for Gloucester and all of its diverse communities
- Appreciation for how communities work and understanding how a strengths-based approach can make places thrive
- Great connections within Gloucester and the surrounding area and a desire to be an ambassador for local people, communities and the Collective
- Experience in Chairing or running organisations
The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors and enable the Board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation.
- Ensures that the organisation complies with its governing document, company law and other relevant legislation/ regulations.
- Work in partnership with the Executive Director / senior staff members and support the employees, helping them achieve the aims of the organisation; and to optimise the relationship between the Board of Directors and the staff.
- Facilitate the Board of Directors in excellent, well-rounded and carefully considered strategic decision-making.
