About Gloucester Community Building Collective
Our independent network of Community Builders supports people who are isolated, digitally excluded or facing mental health and other challenges to connect with each other, local activities and support close to home across Gloucester's most deprived wards, including Barton & Tredworth, Westgate, Parry Hall, Moreland, and Tuffley & Grange. We also partner with local organisations and initiatives to support creative, community‑led projects that tackle isolation, inequality and digital exclusion in sustainable, community‑owned ways.
By unlocking the strengths in Gloucester’s communities, people who are isolated, disabled or living with mental health challenges can build connections, contribute with their gifts and have better, more connected lives, on places where they call home.
Our work includes:
– Community building in neighbourhoods, helping people create informal support networks, social groups and peer connections.
– Digital inclusion “Digi Hubs”, where residents can access devices, Wi‑Fi and one‑to‑one support to get online safely and confidently.
– Partnership projects with local services, linking statutory and voluntary agencies with grassroots community activity to prevent crisis and support independence.
