Summary

Have some spare time and want to make a difference to the operation and running of a small but vital charity in Stroud? Then we have roles that may suit you.

Detailed description

A range of opportunities exist to share existing skills and potentially learn new ones at Marah. We are looking for volunteers and potential trustees for a range of activities.

Fundraising and marketing is a key role that would allow your creativity or experience to bring in much needed grants, regular givers and other fundraising to secure the charities' future. Supported by a drop-in manager you would search out opportunities to raise the charity profile and funds.

The Secretary role ensures the administrative smooth running of the charity. Organising and attending monthly Trustee meetings, either as minute taker or active contributer, you would ensure the charity is well run and effective. In addition, you would have the potential to support the charity in other administrative tasks and potentially share in the responsibility for how the charity operates and is governed.

About Marah

Our purpose is to offer friendship, wholesome food, advice, respect and hope to the people who come to us for assistance. We reach out to those in need, providing fellowship and support in a non-judgemental, welcoming framework.

Our vision is to be a key provider of support to those in need in the Stroud District, helping them to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. We aim to achieve this by helping our clients to access existing statutory and charitable services. Where these services are unsuitable or unavailable, Marah will aim to provide this help direct. We welcome all who come to us as our guests.
