Detailed description

The Charity:

Working 4 Wellbeing (W4W) is a small community Charity which has enjoyed considerable success since its formation in 2021. It was created to support everyone's wellbeing in Fairford, Lechlade and surrounding villages in South East Gloucestershire.

Our Vision is to create a community where everyone's wellbeing can thrive. We're here to listen, support and connect people with all the services and organisations available locally to help them through difficulties and prevent loneliness and isolation.

How we support the community:

Through the generosity of our community volunteers, donations and grant funders W4W is able to provide and support a variety of community services and events, all of which are designed to promote mental wellbeing and reduce feelings of isolation. Many of our events are free thanks to the support of our grant funders and kind donations from the community.

The Role:

Purpose: To ensure that the Board of Trustees fulfils its duties and responsibilities for the appropriate governance of the Charity. Along with the Trustees, ensure that the Charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and that all Trustees and staff are focused on achieving these. Finally, to act as an ambassador and the public face of the charity in partnerships.

Renumeration: The role of Chair is not accompanied by any financial renumeration, although expenses for travel may be claimed.

Time Commitment: Four Board meetings per year. The Chair is also expected to have regular meetings with all the Trustees and also represent the Charity at various events and meetings with stakeholders.

About Working4Wellbeing

We help our rural community to reduce their loneliness and isolation, by building supportive relationships with others through our Talking Cafés, wellbeing walks, craft workshops, youth events, and digital inclusion workshops. We guide people towards the organisations and local charities which can help them, such as CAB, FoodBank, Warm and Well and Fire Prevention. We achieve this through our team of Coordinators and Volunteers.
