Every event requires the bar, this is where most of the UTEA profits come from, so bar volunteers are essential. You will get to pick which events to work.

Detailed description

We now run a cashless bar, with all purchases going through our Ipad till system. This takes all the pressure and stress out as there’s no calculations to do or remembering prices of items.
There will also be at least 2 people working the bar at any event, sometimes more.
You will generally need to be at UTEA for around 7pm to set up before doors open at 7:30
Set up involves: making sure till works, ipad is charged and connected to ePoS, making sure drinks are stocked up from the store cupboards
Clear up at the end of a night is a team effort, going quicker with everyone chipping in to help - collecting glasses, washing up, sweeping floor etc. The event coordinator will have a tick list of jobs to be done before leaving.
As bar volunteers it would also be helpful if the fridges could be restocked at the end of the night, if time permits.
‘Event Details’ emails are sent out before events confirming times and any additional details
If you would like a walk through of the role/ training please do let us know. Alternatively you can be scheduled with an experienced volunteer and learn on the job or you’re welcome to attend Vinyl Night/ Volunteer Social Night to learn and practice in a more relaxed/ informal way.
