Listening Post provides a counselling service to adults living in Gloucestershire who are suffering emotional and psychological distress.Detailed description
Volunteers form the backbone of Listening Post, and without our many volunteers, the work we do would not be possible.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and help us in many ways, from fundraising and litter picking to administration and counselling. Our counsellors are all volunteers – both student counsellors working on their diplomas, and qualified counsellors who have chosen to give something back. Our receptionists too are volunteers, who give their time to allow Listening Post to function.
Applications for Qualified Counsellors are welcomed on an ongoing basis.
We also welcome student applications for placements from students studying Counselling. We have a good relationship with local Training Providers and are respected for the way in which we provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for our students to develop their skills.
We have offices in Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucester so please do get in touch to discuss a location what would suit you.
How much time would you need to give? The time commitment is dependent upon your availability. We can discuss this with you on application.

Listening Post is a professional voluntary counselling service. We are an organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their Ethical Framework. We provide counselling for anyone over the age of 18 regardless of financial status.
