We need one or more enthusiastic people to help us recruit, train and manage our volunteers. There's a lot to do - you can take on everything or just a part!

As a volunteer-only organisation, we always need new volunteers, so this is a critical role! You could carry it out as a volunteer or, if you want to get involved in the governance and strategy of the museum, as a trustee.

You may want to carry out all or just some of the activities below yourself. However much or however little you want to take on, you could still help us out!

Key activities are:

  • Advertise for trustees and volunteers
  • Tell applicants about the museum and the roles we offer
  • Together with the relevant trustee, carry out an induction for new recruits
  • Prepare a weekly rota
  • Develop training materials and deliver training
  • Arrange socials and information evenings

Requirements:

  • Get on well with people!
  • Work as part of a team
  • Background in HR or staff management
  • An interest in heritage would be useful

To get you up to speed, we will provide an induction which includes a brief introduction to and tour of the museum, with more specific training by the trustees who are currently carrying out out this role.
