Come and join Midlands Air Ambulance Charity shop's fabulous volunteer team!
Meet new friends, improve your CV and learn new skills, whilst raising vital funds to keep Midlands Air Ambulance Charities 2 live saving helicopters in the sky and saving lives.
`We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our great team, in our shop in The Eastgate Shopping Centre in Gloucester. Various shifts are available daily
You will be given training on any or all of the following
Receiving donations, sorting & pricing donated stock
Displaying and replenishing donated stock on our shop floor
Promoting our recently launched Gift Aid Scheme
and lots more ...........
No experience necessary as full training will be given but we require that you are dedicated, reliable and willing to learn.

Each year it costs in excess of ÂŁ10 million to maintain the three aircraft and the provision of a lifesaving service. Each air ambulance mission costs an average of ÂŁ2,950. Each critical care car or cardiac car mission costs ÂŁ288 on average. The charity does not receive funding from the Government or National Lottery for its daily missions so relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses.

We operate from strategically located regional airbases at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, Strensham in Worcestershire and Tatenhill in Staffordshire. Each aircraft carries a crew comprising a pilot, two paramedics or a paramedic and flight doctor, plus full life-support medical equipment. Three rapid response vehicles are deployed when the helicopters are unable to fly, due to bad weather for example.
In addition, the charity has three critical care cars. These are the central critical care car, which serves Birmingham and the Black Country area, which operates between 7am until 7pm daily by a critical care paramedic. The southern critical care car is based out of the Strensham airbase, and serves incidents across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire between 2pm and 2am daily. As this car attends incidents into the night, it is manned by two critical care paramedics. The northern critical care car is based at the RAF Cosford airbase and serves Shropshire and Staffordshire between 10am and 10pm with one critical care paramedic on-board.
Every second counts in an emergency and on average, our crew arrive on scene within ten minutes, whether by air ambulance or in one of our critical care cars.
The charity responds to some of the most traumatic incidents including cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions and sports injuries. The aircraft reaches remote locations to attend to patients unreachable by land ambulance
