Kings Theatre

About Kings Theatre

The Kings Theatre is proudly run solely by volunteers and has recently been reimagined to offer an even better experience for our audiences and performers. As the last remaining theatre in Gloucester, we’re committed to keeping live entertainment at the heart of our city.

We host a variety of theatre companies and groups on a regular basis – from professional touring productions to local amateur theatre groups such as Wrandy Productions, Crown Players, Phoenix, and Hardwicke Players – plus an exciting mix of tribute and live music acts including Whitney, Abba, and Rock Through the Ages.

There are three main ways to get involved with volunteering at the Kings:

The Board of Trustees – providing governance and oversight for the charity

The Management Team – overseeing the day-to-day running and development of the theatre

Show Volunteers – supporting performances through front of house duties, welcoming audiences, running the bar, selling programmes, serving refreshments, and assisting with ticket collection

Our front of house is run by a fantastic team of show volunteers who work together to make each event a success. Everyone pitches in where needed to create a warm, friendly atmosphere and ensure our guests have a great experience from the moment they arrive.

Training is provided for all roles. We use Ticketsource for ticket sales and Tabology for the bar, so some computer knowledge is helpful but not essential.

We’ve got an amazing team in place — and we want you to be part of it.
