As part of our 10th Anniversary, in 2024 we have lots of extra events planned this year and it would be amazing if you could give up some of your time to help out where possible this year.
First, a local theatre group (BADCo) are putting on a pantomime in Feb and all funds raised will be donated to the HGT!
They have asked for volunteers for each show they plan to hold and a clear up crew for the Sunday when they need to clear the venue.
Event: BADCo-2024-Treasure-Island-ish
Dates are 15th – 18th February.
Venue - St Barnabas Church Hall, Stroud Rd, Gloucester, GL1 5LJ.
Times - The Saturday show has a Matinee 1.30pm (so BADCo will need us from 1pm) / All Evenings 7pm (so BADCo will want us from 6.30pm)
Performances on 15th (eve) 16th (eve) 17th (matinee and eve) and the Sunday 18th clear up 10am – 2pm.
Here’s an outline of what we need:
Volunteer wise we usually ask for :-
Front of House - 3-4 volunteers each performance this is to help people to seats, tidy after each performance, help on the Tombola stand and help keep dressing rooms clear and tidy especially after quick costume changes, really just general support where needed. These volunteers could change each performance. Volunteers are welcome to watch the performance however if they would like to be guaranteed a seat then they would need to purchase tickets - we usually do have a few available Thursday evening but the other performances often sell out.
Sunday - Clean Up Sunday - as many as possible this is very busy as we have to take absolutely everything down including dressing rooms and a whole heap of tech and we are usually nursing sore heads! Duties include tea and coffee making, cleaning, stacking chairs, repacking up props, costumes, lights and sound equipment. We usually ask for people from 10am to 2pm ish.
About Hollie Gazzard Trust
Following her horrific murder, the family, Nick, Amanda and Chloe, wanted something positive to come out of the loss and set up the Trust not only to help other victims but to raise funds to support young people. Hollie had suffered from domestic abuse, violence and stalking in the time leading up to her death and tackling these issues is at the forefront of the work we do.
The Trust sponsors young people who, like Hollie, have a passion for hairdressing. They wanted to form the Trust in order to give opportunities to others that she had been fortunate to have.
While Hollie’s family are still devastated by her untimely death, and unable to change the events of that fateful day, they hope that the funds raised through the Hollie Gazzard Trust will help others find a better future and reach their potential. The Trust relies on the generosity of the individuals and companies that support it and hold a number of official fundraising initiatives each year.
