Detailed description

The Ward Companion role is a service provided by volunteers who offer one-to-one companionship and support to patients during their stay on Thames Ward. As a Ward Companion you can expect to conduct activities such as…


  • Reading or chatting to patients
  • Playing games with patients
  • Encouraging patients to take part in arts and crafts activities
  • Providing company or reminiscing with patients

 

Thames Ward is a specialised 15-bed unit where our most complex patients present with physical rehabilitation, reablement, dementia or delirium needs. Please note that volunteers for this role need to be aged 18 or over.
