We are looking for volunteers who are able to be part of a team of buddies to Carers who would like the opportunity to have a phone buddy.

Working remotely we are looking to trial a new project which provide 1-2 hours cover would love to hear from you if you would like to be a phone buddy for a Carer. The carer may just need a listening ear, a general chat or need signposting back to us. The volunteer would need to listen and make basic notes to send back to the Gloucestershire Carers hub the next day.

The ideal person for this role:  

  • Clear spoken communication skills 
  • Excellent manner and people skills 
  • Confidence in communicating in person 
  • Pleasant and welcoming manner 
  • Be comfortable volunteering within a group or by yourself 
  • Being able to use your own initiative but be able to ask for help when you need it 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Good timekeeping skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Friendly
