We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Online Craft Session Leader Volunteer for the Gloucestershire Carers Hub.

Detailed description

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Online Craft Session Leader Volunteer for the Gloucestershire Carers Hub. In this role, you will be responsible for organising and leading monthly online craft sessions for a small group of Carers. You will collaborate with the Carers Hub team to plan each session, ensuring that Carers are informed about the materials they will need in advance. The goal is to provide Carers with an enjoyable and therapeutic crafting experience.


Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Carers Hub team to plan and organise monthly online craft sessions for Carers.

- Select a variety of crafts that are suitable for different skill levels and interests.

- Research and prepare step-by-step instructions for each craft session.

- Compile a list of materials needed for each craft and communicate this to Carers prior to the session.

- Ensure that Carers have access to the necessary materials, either by providing suggestions for where to purchase them or offering alternatives using common household items.

- Lead the craft session by providing clear instructions and demonstrations.

- Encourage Carers to ask questions and provide guidance and support as needed.

- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where Carers feel comfortable sharing their creations and experiences.

- Offer suggestions for creative variations or adaptations to accommodate different abilities and preferences.

- Maintain a respectful and non-judgmental atmosphere within the craft sessions.

- Provide feedback and suggestions to the Carers Hub team for improving future craft sessions.


Qualifications:

- Strong passion for crafting and creativity.

- Experience in leading craft sessions or workshops is preferred but not essential.

- Excellent organizational and planning skills.

- Strong communication and instructional abilities.

- Ability to adapt crafts to different skill levels and abilities.

- Patience and empathy towards Carers facing caregiving challenges.

- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to monthly craft sessions.

- Comfortable using online meeting platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

- Ability to provide guidance and support remotely.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
