Gloucester and District Samaritans

About Gloucester and District Samaritans

Samaritans vision is that fewer people die by suicide although our listening service is not limited to people who are experiencing those very dark thoughts, we also offer emotional support to anyone who is finding life tough.
We are active in the community, giving talks, supporting people and raising awareness of our service and have contacts with schools, local groups, railway stations, veterans groups and the hospital.
Full training is given, by the time you pick up the phone to a caller, you will feel able to give them emotional support and explore their feelings. This is a friendly and caring branch of over one hundred volunteers. We would love to hear from you if you think that this is something that you would like to do. We run regular information sessions if you would like to find out more.
