Gloucester City Mission is a Chrisian Charity serving the homeless, we are looking for a Finance professional to bring their skills and expertise to our Board.
What will you be doing?
You will fulfil the role of a Treasurer and a Trustee on our Trustee Board. The Treasurer plays a central role in the strategic management of the organisation.
The purpose of this role is to monitor the financial administration of Gloucester City Mission and advise the Board and staff on financial matters, in line with best practice and in compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House guidance and legislation.
What are we looking for?
· Qualified accountant.
· Ability to explain financial analysis clearly and make recommendations to the Board.
· Willingness to be available to staff to provide advice and guidance on financial matters.
· Good interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills to communicate effectively with the Board, management team and external stakeholders.
· Existing Trustee experience is desirable but not essential.
Having an interest in our cause and Christian ethos is crucial for all Trustees. You will be committed to support the work undertaken by our excellent staff team and volunteers.

The Charity’s finances are in a very sound position and the Treasurer will play a vital role on the Board and help to ensure that we continue to provide support to people who are homeless or in a vulnerable position with regard to housing in Gloucester.

About Gloucester City Mission
We offer:
• Renew - our main office, the Winter Shelter (Dec 1st to Mar 31st) and our Education and Training Centre;
• Outreach teams in the city centre 5 days week;
• Refresh - a weekly hot sit down lunch;
• Restore - a shop for clients to come to get fresh clothes, toiletries and emergency provisions;
• Revive Coffee House where we offer employment opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness and/or addictions;
• Mobile outreach teams supporting rough sleepers away from the city centre;
• Replenish – a warehouse storage space.
