Not long now until the Moomin 80 & Gloucester Refugee Week celebrations, taking place from Friday 13th to Saturday 21st June across Gloucester Docks, Gloucester Guildhall, and Kings Square. These will be joyful, inclusive events celebrating community, diversity, and the 80th anniversary of the beloved Moomins.
Who can Volunteer?
- No experience needed—just enthusiasm and a welcoming spirit! A decent level of English is required though as Health and Safety instructions need to be understood and followed.
- Full training and support provided.
- A chance to connect with others, celebrate Gloucester’s diversity, and be part of something meaningful.
Volunteer Roles:
● Stewarding: Guide attendees at the Moomin 80 raft launch (Fri 13th–20th June) and the Squid Soup art installation (Guildhall).
● Community Picnic Support (Sat 21st June): Welcome guests, assist with activities, and ensure a smooth, fun-filled day!
Saturday 21st June Highlights:
A free, family-friendly picnic celebrating Gloucester’s diversity and refugee communities:
● Global food stalls • Moomins puppet show • Live music & performances • Traditional games from around the world
