DIY/ Maintenance Volunteer

Role:        DIY and Maintenance Volunteer

Where:    Phoenix Community Centre, Matson

Come and join a wonderful team of volunteers and staff at the Phoenix Centre for the role of DIY and Maintenance Volunteer. At the Phoenix Centre we offer, a safe place for community members of all needs to come together.

We are in need of a volunteer that would kindly give some time to assist in general maintenance of the centre, tasks including painting garden fences and repairs. This is an unpaid role; however, we do offer support with training and development. This role could be seen as doing tasks carried out by a ‘good neighbour’ in favour for our community centre. Volunteering is as much or as little time you can spare – it all makes a difference.

Specifications:

·      Ideally you are handy and have experience in DIY and repair jobs.

·      Be flexible and understand that tasks may not be consistent but varied.

·      Be familiar with tools that we have in our woodwork shed.

·      Happy working outdoors and working unsupervised once task is clear.

Benefits:

·      Valued work experience and ability to fill in the gaps of unemployment.

·      References for future work etc.

·      Personal growth and training.

·      Making a difference to the community.

·      Working with a wide range of people.

There are many benefits in volunteering, and we want you to make the best of your own personal goals within this community scheme like; training, personal development, socializing to name but a few. It is even been reported that it’s good for your health (mind and body).

To apply, please click 'Join' and you will be asked a short question. We will then be in touch to discuss the next steps with you.
