Voluntary position for a one hour per-week role as a teaching assistant at a non-profit community organisation. Children ages between years 2 to 7.

The weekly study club runs Saturdays 10.00 to 11.00am with off periods during school holidays.

Young Thinkers Gloucester is a free service for the Barton and Tredworth Community. The Barton and Tredworth area entails a diverse range of communities, ethnic groups, cultures and social classes. However, the area suffers from various aspects of deprivation which undoubtedly negatively impact the younger age groups. For instance, child poverty rates are approximately 10% above national averages, while the area’s Child Wellbeing Index is ranked among the most deprived 20% of neighbourhoods in England (Child Wellbeing Index 2009). Moreover, the area KS1 and KS2 scores, as well as GCSE results are consistently lower than both Gloucestershire and National averages (Gloucestershire City Council 2017).
