We need several volunteers to help us complete and build on a Lottery funded project to improve our collections care and update our exhibitions.

Our museum has two main aims: to care for our collections, which focus on Tewkesbury and the surrounding area, and to display them to the public inside and outside the museum.

We are in the final phase of a grant-funded project which will help us achieve these aims, led by a contractor with huge experience in museums.  We need people who are keen on museums and local history to help deliver the project by the end of February and to secure the project's legacy into the future.

The revitalised exhibition and the first phase of the collections work will soon be finished, but there will still be plenty of improvements to make to our other displays and to the care of our collections.

You don't need experience of working in a museum, as you'll be given full training. There's lots to do during and after the project, so you're bound to find something to interest you.

Collections care will appeal to people who like handling, investigating and recording old objects.  Exhibition improvements need a variety of skills, including planning, research, creating interactive film and audio, and writing descriptions.

We also take objects out to residential homes and schools and encourage group visits, potentially with guided tours.  These activities will appeal to sociable people who like interacting with groups.

All ages welcome except - sorry - we can't take you if you're under 18.

We welcome applications irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity/paternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
