We need an enthusiastic person to help us develop our pool of trustees and volunteers. You will advertise opportunities, brief applicants & help with training.

This role is critical to the success or our small museum - we don't have any employees, so we depend entirely on our trustees and volunteers.

There are lots of things to do - see below.  You could carry out all of these on your own or, more likely, you could share them with one or two other people.

You will probably join our board of trustees, which means getting involved in broader aspects of managing the museum, including its governance and strategy, but this is not essential.

Key activities are:

  • Advertise for trustees and volunteers
  • Tell applicants about the museum and the roles we offer
  • Together with the relevant trustee, carry out an induction for new recruits
  • Prepare a weekly rota
  • Develop training materials and deliver training
  • Arrange socials and information evenings

Requirements:

  • Get on well with people!
  • Good admin skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • A background in HR or staff management would be useful but is not necessary
  • An interest in Tewkesbury and its history would also be useful

To get you up to speed, we will provide an induction which includes a brief introduction to and tour of our museum, with more specific training by the people who are currently carrying out out this role.
