Summary
We’re looking for volunteers to get involved in our local PDSA charity shops and help raise the vital funds needed to treat poorly pets.Detailed description
PDSA has over 100 community charity shops around the UK. Each one plays a huge role in raising the funds needed to care for the animals that arrive across our 48 pet hospitals each day. The success of our charity shops is all down to our amazing team of volunteers, and we urgently need your help to continue the life-changing work we do at PDSA.
As a charity shop volunteer, you’ll take part in a wide range of activities that support the day-to-day running of the shops. You could be involved in customer service, processing transactions on the tills, replenishing the stock on the shop floor, or perfecting eye-catching displays to entice customers in!
Behind the scenes, volunteers also get involved in sorting donations, finding hidden gems and preparing goods for sale.
Why volunteer in one of our charity shops?
- You’ll gain retail experience, learn new skills and develop your CV
- You’ll meet people from all walks of life, make new friends and become part of a fantastic team
- You’ll make a difference and do your bit to support a great cause
- You’ll receive full training and we’ll reimburse your travel expenses so you’re not out of pocket
- You can devote as much or as little of your spare time!
We’re looking for people who are 18 years of age or over who enjoy working in a team to make a difference. Our application form is online, but if you need help or more information, you can pop into your local PDSA charity shop and talk to the friendly Shop Manager or give them a call to discuss the role in more detail.
PDSA positively encourages volunteer applications regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, adults at risk and all our colleagues and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
To support this commitment, our recruitment & selection processes are robust and rigorous and all appointments will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate background checks.
