We are looking for a volunteer to lead a Carers Café in Tewkesbury

Detailed description

Position Overview:

Gloucestershire Carers Hub is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Volunteer Carers Café members in Tewkesbury. As a Volunteer Carers Café member, you will play a vital role in providing support, to unpaid Carers within the community. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Carers, enabling them to connect with others and receive the support they need.


Responsibilities:

- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for Carers attending the café

- Engage in friendly conversations with Carers, providing support and understanding

- Assist in setting up and tidying the cafe area before and after sessions

- Serve refreshments and light snacks to Carers in a professional and courteous manner

- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operation of the café

- Help organise and participate in activities and events held at the café

- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to health and safety regulations

- Respect confidentiality and privacy of Carers at all times


Requirements:

- Genuine interest in supporting and helping unpaid Carers

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Empathy and compassion towards individuals facing challenges

- Reliable and punctual, able to commit to agreed-upon schedules

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations

- Respectful and non-judgmental attitude

- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not required

- Flexibility to accommodate potential changes in the role or schedule
