Summary

We are looking for volunteers who are able to be part of a team manning phone calls which will be diverted to their own mobile so can volunteer remotely.

Detailed description

Working remotely we are looking to trial a new project which provide 1-2 hours cover each evening and 2 hours on a Saturday and Sunday phone support. These hours will be split over a team of volunteers and we would love to hear from you even if you can only do one of the shifts each month. The carer may just need a listening ear or need signposting. The volunteer would need to listen and make basic notes to send back to the Gloucestershire Carers hub the next day.

The ideal person for this role:

  • Clear spoken communication skills
  • Excellent manner and people skills
  • Confidence in communicating in person
  • Pleasant and welcoming manner
  • Be comfortable volunteering within a group or by yourself
  • Being able to use your own initiative but be able to ask for help when you need it
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good timekeeping skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

We want volunteering roles to work around the lives of our volunteers. So can be flexible around you. If you would like to know more about this role or others or maybe you have a great idea to volunteer. Please get in touch.
