Summary
You will be supporting and enabling local people to access the online world through their mobile phones, laptops and other devices.
Detailed description
In this role, you will be attending local community settings or venues to assist people with basic skills to better enable them to utilise their mobile phones, laptops and devices. This will include:
- Providing support to individuals in a group setting alongside staff and/or a lead volunteer
- Utilising your people skills to reassure those who are nervous about using technology
- Troubleshooting and using your own initiative to demonstrate solutions to common problems
- Assisting people with further learning by sign-posting them to digital skills support such as online courses and guides
We have opportunities for digital volunteers to further expand this support to lead in community settings. Furthermore, you can opt into training with us to support people with the digital skills in their own home.
We also have opportunities for remote volunteers to work on resources to support our work.

You will need to be willing to obtain a Safeguarding level 2 qualification and a valid DBS which we will organise and cover the cost of.
All of our volunteers will be offered reimbursement for out-of-pocket expense for travelling.
we also offer continuous support which includes regular supervision or peer to peer support.
This role is for adults aged 18+
