Volunteer Welcomer/Receptionist


Role:          Reception Volunteer

Where:      Advice and Resource Centre (ARC) Matson

 

We are looking for someone with a great personality, a can-do attitude, and a positive approach to work with our team to greet people arriving in the building, take phone messages answer and do the occasional admin work.

 

Ø This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in receptionist or customer service roles

Ø You will be providing telephone and admin support.

 

The Volunteer Receptionist is the welcoming face of our charity, providing friendly and efficient front desk support. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations by greeting visitors, answering calls, and assisting with basic administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, personable and enjoys helping others.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet visitors in a welcoming manner.
  • Answer phone calls, direct calls to the appropriate staff and take accurate messages.
  • Support the management of incoming and outgoing mail or deliveries.
  • Maintain the reception area to ensure it is tidy and welcoming.
  • Provide general information about programs, services, or events.
  • Assist staff with administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying.
  • Support other volunteers and team members as needed.


Skills & Qualifications:


  • Friendly and approachable character.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer and phone handling skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous customer service or administrative experience (a plus, but not required).
