Become a School Governor at Sherborne C of E Primary School
Are you passionate about education and community engagement? Do you have skills and experiences that could positively impact the future of the school?
We are looking for Governors to join the Local Governing Body and help shape the strategic direction of the school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing new skills and experiences.
About Our School
As part of the Corinium Education Trust, Sherborne C of E Primary School has its own Local Governing Body, which plays a vital role in supporting and challenging the school leadership to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
What Does a School Governor Do?
As a Governor, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the school by:
· Working with fellow Governors to plan the strategic direction.
· Supporting and constructively challenging the Headteacher.
· Challenging existing processes to drive school improvement.
Who Are We Looking For?
We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds and with a passion for education who are eager to make a difference.
Time Commitment
· The Local Governing Body meet five times a year, with meetings held at the school on a week night from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.
· Governors are also expected to attend three evening training events per year, organised by the Corinium Education Trust.
· Governors are expected to complete an induction programme and regular training. This is predominantly in the style of e-learning, at a convenient time to yourself.

About Corinium Education Trust
The Corinium Education Trust is a growing multi-academy trust, currently made up of six schools: Cirencester Deer Park School, Chesterton Primary School, Down Ampney C of E Primary School, Kemble Primary School, Sherborne C of E Primary School and Siddington C of E Primary School. Each school within the Trust has its own Local Governing Body, and we are looking for committed individuals to join us as school governors.
