CPRE Gloucestershire is looking for volunteers to help our Hedgerow Heroes Project reach its goal of planting and restoring over 2km of hedgerow.
Detailed description
CPRE Gloucestershire is taking part in its third Hedgerow Heroes Project season!
In this season, we are aiming to restore and plant over 2km of hedgerows across the county. The project is part of CPRE's national campaign launched in 2021 to extend the UK’s hedgerow network by 40% by 2050.
Planting and restoring hedgerows helps prevent soil erosion, boost biodiversity by providing vital habitats for birds, insects, butterflies, and small mammals, and enhance the beauty of our rural landscapes.
We’ll be hosting hedge-laying training days and community planting events throughout the season — all free of charge and open to everyone who wants to get involved in restoring our countryside.
By volunteering with us, you’ll be helping to protect and enhance our fantastic Gloucestershire countryside and contribute to the success of this vital CPRE project.
