Summary
We're looking for trustees to join our friendly Board. We're especially looking for individuals with social media, marketing and IT experience.
Detailed description
As a trustee you will work with our trustee board to ensure that Building Circles is achieving its charitable objectives. We are particularly looking for board members with social media, marketing and/or IT experience. However, we welcome applications from individuals who have a range of skills and experience, and those from a range of backgrounds.
The role involves attending in person, quarterly board meetings. If you're interested in finding out more about the role, please get in contact to arrange an informal discussion before applying. During this discussion you will have the opportunity to discuss the role and time commitment in more detail.
Not sure if the role is quite right for you? Here is what our trustee, Alison, says about being a trustee for Building Circles:
"Being a Trustee might initially feel a bit daunting especially if you’ve never done anything like this before, but if you’re a little bit interested, I’d encourage you to give it some thought and get in touch with the team. I found the existing Trustees to be very friendly, welcoming and supportive. We meet around four times a year for a couple of hours and there may be the odd extra bit of input needed occasionally. We also get invited to the brilliant events that are organised, and attending these and seeing everyone having such a great time reminds me why I volunteer as a Trustee".
Please do get in touch if you're interested in the role - we'd love to hear from you!

About Building Circles
Building Circles supports adults with learning disabilities in Gloucestershire to form and maintain meaningful friendships. Our Social Buddies, Gig Buddies and Football Buddies programmes connect adults with learning disabilities to local volunteers. Our Buddies then go out into the community to do things they enjoy - together. Our volunteers also support our other groups, such as our Allotment Groups and Art Group. We aim to enable adults with learning disabilities to live a more meaningful life, and volunteers are at the heart of what we do. In exchange for your volunteering time, we offer training and ongoing support, as well as reimbursement of expenses and opportunities to join our team at a range of social events.
