Community Café Volunteer
Are you friendly, enthusiastic and looking to make a positive difference in your community? Join Aspire Foundation as a Community Café Volunteer and help create a welcoming space where local families, children and residents can connect, socialise and feel supported.
Our Community Cafés, based at Gardners Lane and Oakwood Children & Family Centres, are community hubs that bring people together. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in ensuring visitors receive a warm welcome and enjoy a positive café experience.
You will support day-to-day café operations by serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and light refreshments, assisting customers, handling payments, helping with stock management, and ensuring the café remains clean, safe and inviting. You may also help create displays, promote special offers, and contribute ideas to help our cafés continue to develop and grow.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in customer service, food service, stock management and community engagement. Whether you are looking to build confidence, gain experience for your CV, meet new people, or simply give something back to your local community, we would love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
- Welcoming and assisting customers
- Serving food and drinks
- Taking orders and handling payments
- Supporting stock checks and stock rotation
- Maintaining a clean and tidy café environment
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Helping create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors
We're looking for people who are:
- Friendly, approachable and reliable
- Good communicators
- Comfortable interacting with members of the public
- Able to work as part of a team
- Enthusiastic about supporting their local community
Time commitment:
Ideally a regular morning each week (during term time)

This role is subject to references and an enhanced DBS check. Aspire Foundation will cover all DBS costs.
