Jane Morgan – Trustee - Winchcombe Green Town
I joined Winchcombe Green Town in November2021 at the first public meeting which I’d attended because I have a long-held passion for preserving the environment from human damage. At first, I was a little concerned that I might not have the necessary skills to be of use in this new fledgling organisation. I needn’t have worried as everyone involved has a diverse and multifaceted array of skills and a sense of purpose as well as a much-needed sense of humour. We are a friendly bunch.
I have been able to bring my work experiences to my role. After a career in Sure Start Children’s Services, I’ve learnt a thing or two about managing team dynamics, tight budgets and projects. I can also add my experience as a coach, facilitator and mentor as well as my previous volunteering for other organisations to the skills basket.
In Winchcombe Green Town I have co-facilitated talks, worked on strategic plans and processes, run projects and recently have become more involved in the governance. There is a freedom in this charity to develop ideas into projects, to go with a personal passion and to encourage others. It’s a thoroughly positive experience.
