We are looking for someone to help develop and implement our fundraising strategy.Detailed description
We are looking for someone who can develop our strategy for raising funds for our project to build a maintenance and educational facility at Oldminster Sidings. Ideally you should have previous experience in fundraising for the heritage sector. The role will involve identifying potential sources of funding including corporate sponsorship, grants from trusts or foundations as well as online-giving and community fund raising. You will also help us develop and implement an action plan to raise funds.
This is an opportunity to use your skills to set us on the right (railway) track.
About Vale of Berkeley Railway Charitable Trust
Our aim is to reopen the Sharpness branch line, in Gloucestershire, to passengers as a heritage railway tourist attraction, rebuilding some of the key structures that once adorned this historic joint GWR & LMS Severn & Wye Railway. We have established an engineering facility based in the Old Engine House by the docks, to restore heritage locomotives, rolling stock and other items from a bygone era, and to serve as an initial base for the Vale of Berkeley Railway. Now we are working on developing the original Sharpness freight sidings site, as the next phase in our plans to establish a Heritage Railway operation towards Berkeley.
