Help Shape the Future of Youth Mental Health.
Every young person deserves someone to talk to when they need it most.
At Let's Talk Well, we provide free, confidential counselling and emotional wellbeing support to thousands of children and young people across Gloucestershire. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help us shape the next chapter of our journey.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills, experience and insight to make a lasting difference to the lives of children, young people and families, while helping guide a respected and ambitious charity with a strong reputation for impact.
Why Become a Trustee?
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in setting the strategic direction of Let's Talk Well and ensuring the organisation remains strong, sustainable and true to its mission. You will work alongside an experienced and supportive Board, providing oversight, challenge and encouragement to help the charity achieve its ambitions.
Whether you are an experienced trustee or looking for your first Board role, we welcome applications from people who share our values and are passionate about improving emotional wellbeing for young people.
We Are Looking for People Who:
- Share a strong commitment to Let's Talk Well's vision, values and Christian ethos.
- Have a genuine and active Christian faith.
- Care deeply about the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
- Can think strategically and contribute to constructive discussions and decision-making.
- Are willing to offer independent judgement, support and challenge.
- Bring professional expertise, community knowledge and/or valuable lived experience.
- Are aged 18 or over.
Particular Skills and Experience We Would Like to Strengthen
We are keen to hear from people who can bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance, accounting or commercial leadership.
- Strategic growth, organisational development and service expansion.
- Child and adolescent mental health, psychology, psychiatry, counselling or therapeutic services.
- Charity governance, fundraising and income generation.
- Human Resources, employment law and people management.
- Digital innovation, technology and organisational transformation.
We recognise that no one person will have all of these skills, and we encourage applications from candidates who can contribute in any of these areas.
Time Commitment
The role requires approximately 4-12 hours per month, including attendance at quarterly Board meetings held in Gloucester and Mitcheldean.
Trustees are appointed for an initial term of three years.
Join Us
If you are looking for an opportunity to use your experience to create real change for children and young people, while contributing to the strategic leadership of a thriving and growing charity, we would love to hear from you.
