Join Sunday group volunteer days from September to March to help us maintain this beautiful woodland and create habitats for nature to thrive

Our Working Groups help us to look after our wonderful sites across the UK. Carrying out a variety of practical tasks under the guidance of the Woodland Trust Site Manager, the Working Groups keep our sites looking great, keep our pathways accessible, and help us manage the woodland in line with our management plans.

A great way to learn skills and meet new people, our Working Groups also directly contribute to the care and upkeep of valuable habitats.

Tasks include clearing glades for wildflowers, coppicing, small tree felling, removing invasive plants and clearing paths.

Volunteering days run on Sundays throughout Autumn / Winter. Other days are arranged ad-hoc, but please only apply if you can usually volunteer on a Sunday.

Before you apply please check that you live within 45 minutes travel time of Lineover Wood, near Dowdeswell, around 8km (5 miles) south-east of Cheltenham (GL54 4LS). Any greater distance makes the volunteering unsustainable.

  • Anyone under 18 applying for this role must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered as a Woodland Trust volunteer.
  • The chance to use the practical skills you already have and/or develop new ones
  • Opportunity to become part of a friendly group of volunteers with shared aims and interests carrying out activities in the great outdoors
  • An excellent opportunity to support the UK's largest woodland conservation charity
  • A full induction to the Woodland Trust and access to a range of training

To apply you can either:

a) Search the internet for 'woodland trust volunteer Lineover' or

b) Message on this platform to be sent a joining link
