About The Balcarras Trust

The Balcarras Trust came into existence on December 1st 2020. It was formed by the Members and Trustees of the Balcarras Academy Trust, which as a Single Academy Trust (SAT) had oversight of Balcarras School based in Cheltenham. In 2018 Balcarras was appointed by the Regional School’s Commissioner to be the sponsor of a new secondary school for Cheltenham. That school—The High School Leckhampton—opened on September 1st 2021. In 2023, Winchcombe School, an 11-16 Comprehensive School based in the Cotswolds, joined the Trust. At the moment the Trust is made up of these three schools but we are open to the possibility that the trust might grow in the future.
