Summary
We are looking for more volunteers to help us working with vulnerable people, around the farm, woodwork or horticultureDetailed description
Want to do something challenging and rewarding? Then volunteering at Scrubditch Care Farm could be for you!
We always welcome new volunteers, especially those with experience in any of the following areas – working with vulnerable adults and young people, farming, animal care, woodwork, or horticulture
We are open during the week for adults with learning disabilities to come and work on the farm, supported by our staff and volunteers - they look after the animals, do lots of gardening, go on woodland walks, make healthy meals in our cookery studio and much more! We also have a group of people living with dementia and their carers who come and enjoy the morning on the farm one morning a week.
The volunteer role can be quite hard work physically. Well, it is farm work! It is mainly outdoors, quite often cold and wet and on your feet for most of the day. But on the other hand it is hugely rewarding, really enjoyable and a great deal of fun! .
Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and no particular experience is necessary - the most important thing is a willing attitude, a supportive and caring approach and a good sense of humour! All of our volunteers are required to have an enhanced DBS check and we provide regular training sessions.
What we usually suggest is if you are interested; come along for a chat and a look around to see what we do! We can then organise a trial morning where you join the team, if you think it’s for you.
