About Schoolreaders

Volunteers needed to listen to children read! One in four children leave primary school unable to read to the expected standard. This means they are unable to fully access their secondary education which will have a life-long impact on their opportunities. Schoolreaders is a national child literacy charity that recruits volunteers to go into local primary schools to listen to children read. We are calling out for more volunteers across Gloucestershire. If you can spare just an hour a week, you could change a child’s life story. To find out more, visit Schoolreaders.org.
