The RSPB is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Practical Work Parties at RSPB Nagshead and Highnam Woods nature reserves in Gloucestershire. These woodland reserves are vital habitats for wildlife, and our small team relies on volunteers to help keep them thriving.
Work parties run every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm, alternating between the two sites from September to March, with occasional sessions during summer for bracken control and general maintenance.
As a volunteer, you’ll help with a variety of hands-on conservation tasks such as coppicing, clearing vegetation, maintaining paths and infrastructure, and managing habitats to support key species. The work is active and outdoors, ideal for those looking to stay fit, meet new people, and contribute to nature conservation.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team and gain valuable experience in practical reserve management. Whether you're looking to learn new skills or just enjoy the outdoors, this is a great opportunity.
