Summary

Parkinson's UK is looking for someone who can volunteer for 2-3 hours once a quarter to support a Parkinson's Cafe in the Forest of Dean.

Detailed description

Parkinson’s changes lives. From the day of diagnosis, people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones need to know we’re by their side.

In the Forest of Dean we have a café for people with Parkinson’s and their friends and families to come and informally get to know other people in their situation. The café takes place quarterly, in the morning, at The Belfry in Littledean, so people can just pop along for a cuppa, a chat & an informal catch up.

We are now looking for 1 or 2 people to run the café quarterly. The role is mainly to meet & greet people on the day of the café and let people know/remind them in advance the date the next café is booked for, so pretty straightforward we hope!

The role can be split between 2 people so if you like meeting people, are organised & friendly then you are the person/people for this role.

Expenses are paid and there is straightforward online induction training. No experience of Parkinson's is needed but a friendly and caring manner is essential.
