Our early years charity is seeking a new Trustee to join our supportive board to help lead the charity's direction and play a key role in strategic decisions.

Help Shape the Future for Gloucestershire’s Youngest Children.

Are you passionate about giving children the very best start in life? Would you like to use your skills and experience to make a genuine difference to children, families and communities across Gloucestershire?

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our forward thinking Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a strategic role in a respected local charity dedicated to strengthening early childhood development and improving outcomes for young children and their families.

You do not need to be an Early Years specialist to apply. What matters most is your interest in children and communities, your willingness to contribute, and your desire to make a positive impact.

What You Can Expect

As a trustee, you will be part of a supportive, values driven Board that is passionate about making a difference. In return for your time and commitment, we offer:

• The opportunity to influence and support high quality Early Years provision in Gloucestershire and beyond, helping young children thrive during the most important years of development.

• Valuable board level experience within a well established charity, alongside experienced professionals who are committed, collaborative and welcoming.

• The chance to develop your leadership, strategic thinking and governance skills, with access to induction, ongoing support and learning opportunities.

• A flexible and realistic time commitment, designed to fit alongside work and personal responsibilities.

• The satisfaction of knowing your contribution directly supports children, families and the wider community.

Time Commitment

Trustees attend six Board meetings per year (majority via Teams). Meetings last between 60 - 90 minutes, with board papers sent in advance. Trustees may also choose to contribute to subgroups or short term projects if this aligns with their interests and availability, although this is optional rather than expected.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds who are motivated to play an active role in the governance and future direction of the charity. We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring fresh thinking, constructive challenge and a strong commitment to our mission and values.

You may be well suited to this role if you are able to offer:

• Strategic thinking and sound judgement, with the confidence to ask questions, contribute to discussions and help steer the organisation positively.

• A genuine interest in the wellbeing of children, families and local communities.

• A collaborative and approachable style, with a willingness to listen, learn and work as part of a team.

• Reliability, integrity and a commitment to acting in the best interests of the charity.

We value a wide range of professional and lived experience and encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every criterion.

Interested in Joining Us?

For an informal conversation and more information about the role please contact Jade Craswell, Chief Executive.

If you feel you might have something to offer we would love to hear from you.
