Summary

We are looking for new Trustees to expand our existing Board. We need people with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to help the Charity plan and succeed in

Detailed description

Lydney Dial-A-Ride is a safe and friendly door-to-door transport service for those people who do not have their own transport and are unable to use public transport.

The Charity has been established for over 30 years. It carries passengers between Lydney, Coleford, Cinderford and the surrounding local areas in the Forest of Dean. It operates a fleet of accessible minibuses, capable of carrying wheelchair passengers and other seated passengers. It has a volunteer based car service, two charity shops and runs rural bus services and Home to School contracts.

The Charity is now seeking to appoint new Trustees to their Board. The Board members are from a range of backgrounds and have a variety of skills. To complement the current Board, we are interested in hearing from people with experience in the following areas:

  • Running organisations
  • Planning strategic direction
  • Personnel and business development
  • A keen interest in the Charity sector.

What would be expected of you:

  • To attend monthly Board meetings
  • There may be occasional ad hoc Committee meetings or events
  • It is expected that Trustees maintain regular contact with the Charity Manager and other Board members.
  • We are more than happy to accommodate anyone who wishes to apply for the position. Our building is accessible, and we hold the meetings at the local community centre.

If you would relish this challenge and share in the Board’s desire to continue to build on Lydney Dial a Ride’s strengths in these ever-changing times, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

We aim to achieve greater diversity within our Board of Trustees and welcome applications from all members of the local community.

Please note these positions are voluntary.
