Summary

This role is perfect for someone passionate about women's recovery...you will help us build connections in the local area as we prepare to open a woman's house.

Detailed description

Hope and Vision Communities is a grassroots organisation supporting individuals as they transition from residential rehabilitation to independent, substance-free living.

We were set up in 2020 by a Tony, a former drug user and Peter, the judge who jailed him. Despite their differences, they shared a deep understanding of what it takes to break the cycle of addiction. Tony had spent 15 years in that cycle as a prolific offender with over 400 arrests, 80 charges and 50 convictions. His addiction was the result of unresolved, deep-rooted trauma.

Through our unique model of lived-experience-led housing and building community, we have helped dozens of people to rebuild their lives with stability, dignity, and purpose.

About the role

We are preparing to open a new Women’s House in April 2026, a safe recovery-focused space where women can build their recovery fellowship and sense of community.

To help us build strong foundations locally, we are seeking a Community Connector volunteer based in Gloucester. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about women’s recovery, partnership working, and strengthening community connections.

About Hope and Vision

We are a charity providing supported accommodation to people in long term recovery...however we do more than offer a safe place for people to live. We provide a supportive community based on peer-to-peer lived experience, with no end date for those we help - it's a community for life. We are looking to open a women's community in Gloucs in 2026.
