Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester is a local charity rooted in compassion, trust, and early intervention. We support parents with young children through challenging times, offering practical help and emotional support via trained volunteers and staff. Together, we help build confident, resilient families and stronger communities.

🌱 The Role

As Chair of Trustees, you will guide and inspire our Board and senior leadership, helping to shape our strategic vision and ensure good governance. You’ll be part of a warm, dedicated team that values encouragement, openness, and collaborative thinking.

We’re looking for someone who will:

• Champion our mission and values
• Lead with integrity, empathy, and energy
• Encourage and support trustees and staff alike
• Guide strategic decisions and ensure strong governance
• Be an ambassador for the charity within the local community

You don’t need to be a governance expert—what matters most is your ability to lead with empathy and commitment. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, especially those who understand the challenges families face today.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

• An experienced leader or facilitator
• A confident communicator and relationship-builder
• Passionate about family support and community wellbeing
• Able to commit time to meetings (approx. 6 Board meetings/year + occasional support between)

Previous charity or board experience is helpful but not essential.
