Get off the beaten track - come and help survey GWT nature reserves so we can manage them better for wildlife.
It's a great way to spend time in wild places, get to know nature in detail, improve your botanical and ecological skills, and help with GWT's work.
Join our small, friendly groups of volunteer surveyors who help us to undertake mainly flora and ecological surveys from March to October each year. We can be found every Tuesday to Friday on selected reserves across Gloucestershire. We supply any survey equipment needed, but you'll need suitable outdoor clothing and to bring your own lunch.
Days are approx. 9.30am to 4.30pm and once you've signed up you are able to pick which dates and reserves suit you. You can sign up for as many days as you wish, but due to training time we ask for a minimum commitment of 4 days per year. We train new volunteers as we survey.
Spring means woodland surveys, with grasslands, wetlands and heathlands later in the year. We work slowly and methodically, but we get to places the general public don't usually see.
