We are seeking dedicated Hospital Volunteers to join our team and support the Gloucestershire Carers Hub, a vital resource for carers in the community.

Detailed description

We are seeking dedicated Hospital Volunteers to join our team and support the Gloucestershire Carers Hub, a vital resource for Carers in the community. As a volunteer, your primary responsibility will be to raise awareness of the Carers Hub by manning the information stand within the hospital, ensuring that everyone who accesses the hospital is informed about the available support for Carers.


Responsibilities:

- Set up and maintain an informative and visually appealing information stand within the hospital.

- Welcome and engage with patients, visitors, and hospital staff, providing them with accurate and up-to-date information about Gloucestershire Carers Hub services.

- Promote the various support programs, resources, and initiatives offered by the Carers Hub to enhance the quality of life for Carers.

- Answer inquiries and address any questions or concerns from individuals interested in accessing the Carers Hub services.

- Distribute informational materials, brochures, and leaflets to increase awareness and educate individuals about the available support. Support Carers who would like to self-refer to the hub to sign up using the GCH tablet.

- Collaborate closely with the Carers Hub team to ensure consistent messaging and accurate representation of services.

-     providing regular reports to the Carers Hub coordinator.


Qualifications:

- Passionate about supporting Carers and raising awareness of resources available to them.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals.

- Empathetic and patient, able to effectively listen and address inquiries or concerns.

- Strong organisational skills to maintain an orderly and visually appealing information stand.

- Ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively with the Carers Hub team.

- Reliability and commitment to fulfilling scheduled volunteer shifts.

- Confidentiality and respect for sensitive information related to Carers and their circumstances.
